
In the early hours of May 11, 2026, China’s men’s table tennis team defeated Japan 3-0 in the World Table Tennis Championships team final, with Liang Jingkun, Wang Chuqin, and Lin Shidong leading the charge. The lineup for Japan included Tomokazu Harimoto, Sora Matsushima, and Shunsuke Togami. This victory marked China’s 24th men’s team title and an impressive 12th consecutive championship. During the tournament, the Chinese team also secured the women’s team title.

Following the win, the Beijing Film Academy published an article celebrating the achievement, noting that Liang Jingkun, as a faculty member and national team star, brought world-class table tennis perspective to the campus and actively supported the university’s sports development. According to the official website of the university’s Humanities and Social Sciences Teaching Department, Liang holds the position of associate professor in the sports teaching and research office. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in sports training from Tianjin University of Science and Technology and a master’s degree in business administration. He remains an active player on the Chinese national team and is an international-level athlete.

At the university’s year-end faculty meeting in December 2025, Liang was formally introduced as a new faculty member. Previously, in June 2025, Liang attended the graduate commencement ceremony at Tianjin University of Science and Technology, where he received his master’s degree and was recognized as an outstanding graduate representative. His achievements as a World Cup team champion and World Table Tennis Championships team gold medalist, along with three singles bronze medals at the World Championships, were highlighted during the ceremony.
According to a public notice from Beijing Film Academy’s second round of recruitment in 2025, Liang Jingkun was listed as a high-level physical education teacher candidate, with a professional title at level seven of the teacher series, under the Humanities and Social Sciences Teaching Department.
