Rubin Kazan midfielder Ruslan Bezrukov shared his thoughts on the team’s prospects at the end of the current Mir Russian Premier League season following the 29th-round match against Spartak Moscow, which ended in a 1-2 defeat.

“We aimed to climb higher and break into the top six. The motivation was strong. We didn’t quite manage it in some areas, but we’ll keep working. Matches like these make us better,” Bezrukov was quoted as saying by Ilya Nikulnikov, a correspondent for Championat.
After 29 matches in the Russian championship, Spartak has 51 points and sits in fourth place in the standings. Rubin Kazan ranks seventh with 42 points.
In the next round, Juan Carlos Carcedo’s team will face Makhachkala’s Dynamo away, while Franck Artiga’s squad will host Pari Nizhny Novgorod at home. All 30th-round RPL matches are scheduled for May 17, with kick-off at 18:00 Moscow time.
