Liverpool Football Club has released designs of a permanent memorial dedicated to Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva, set to be installed at Anfield. Titled “Forever 20,” the sculpture features a flowing heart shape inspired by Jota’s signature goal celebration. From different angles, the numbers 20 and 30—the shirt numbers worn by Jota and Silva, respectively—are visible.
The memorial will also incorporate lyrics from the song Liverpool fans continue to sing in honor of Jota, serving as a tribute to the bond between the brothers, who died in a car accident last July. It will be positioned on 97 Avenue, where thousands of flowers, scarves, cards, and banners were left in their memory last year. Many of these tributes will be recycled and integrated into the stone plinth supporting the sculpture.
The club will announce an official unveiling date in due course.
