Mallorca are fighting for survival, while Villarreal have already secured their place in next season’s Champions League. The two sides meet at Son Moix on Sunday in a crucial LaLiga encounter.
Villarreal, who have guaranteed a spot in the Champions League, will look to add three more points when they visit Mallorca at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix. The home side, meanwhile, aim to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
In their last league outing, Villarreal thrashed Levante 5-1 at home, extending their unbeaten run to four matches. With 68 points from 34 games, they sit third and have already booked their ticket to Europe’s elite competition with four matches remaining.
Mallorca, in 15th place with 38 points, are just two points above the relegation zone with four games left. They also won their most recent LaLiga match, beating Girona 1-0 at Montilivi.

**Head-to-Head History: Mallorca vs Villarreal**
Villarreal won the reverse fixture 2-1 at La Cerámica back in November. Gerard Moreno opened the scoring for the Yellow Submarine in the sixth minute, with Tani Oluwaseyi also finding the net. Samú Costa scored for the hosts in the 8th minute.
Villarreal have been dominant in recent meetings, going unbeaten in their last five LaLiga encounters against Mallorca. The home side’s last league victory over Villarreal came in February 2023. Over that period, the Yellow Submarine have outscored Mallorca 10-3.
Georges Mikautadze, Alberto Moleiro, and Gerard Moreno are Villarreal’s top scorers this season with 11, 10, and 9 goals respectively. For Mallorca, Vedat Muriqi has been indispensable, leading the club with 21 goals—the second-best tally in LaLiga 2025/26—seven of which have been opening goals.
Mallorca have collected 29 points from 17 home matches this season at Son Moix. They will aim to extend a four-match unbeaten run in the league, which dates back to March 15 against Espanyol. Villarreal, meanwhile, have seven wins, four draws, and six losses on the road this season.
In their last six league games, Mallorca have won three, drawn one, and lost two. Villarreal have won four, drawn one, and lost one in the same period.
